Capture Dakota Book

The Capture Dakota Book is the result of the Capture Dakota photo contest sponsored by the Aberdeen News and Sanford Health in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  Local photographers in North and South Dakota submitted their best photographs and viewers voted on the best of the best.  200+ photographs were selected by the editors with the help of hundreds of thousands of voters for inclusion in the 128 page Capture Dakota Book.  The book is being printed and will be available for shipping November 17th, 2011.  Pre-ship date orders now are available for a substantial savings but you must order before November 17th.  Click on this link if you are interested in purchasing a copy.

The best part is that at least one of this photographer’s submissions has been selected for inclusion so see below for my top twenty Dakota photos and see if you can guess which one was selected.

I just noticed that the widget that selects the photos is selecting randomly from my all my top ranked photos not necessarily the top 20. So the top voted picture may or may not be in the group all the time which means you may have to refresh the page one or two times to ensure you see them all.

I should know which one it is, but alas I’ve forgotten. :) If I were to pick one of those to be published, I’d choose “Window into the past”. Runner-ups would be “Storm Clouds Approach” and “Summer Storm”. “Barn Refliction [sic]” is a pretty good one, too. But how could one pass up “Hawk in Flight”? Course, being an old airdale, I do like “Only in South Dakota” and “Taking Off for Another Run”. Okay, I think they all should be published. Great pics.

Actually, I don’t know for sure. I have been told the “one or more” of my top vote getters (the ones on the blog) though I suspect its one of those on the blog.
